It was CRAZY! The so called authorities which are supposed to keep the peace and safety of the country, has nothing else to do besides polishing their shoes, ironing their uniforms and hitting people gathering peacefully singing national anthem?Let me tell u wat happened, and u figure urself whether this shd be the way to safeguard the country.
The vigil against ISA supposed to be at amcorp mall, but when we arrived v were told tat police had dispersed the people and now the crowd had moving towards civic centre. It was around 100 over people, this time it was another agenda, to commemorate the anniversary of BERSIH. The leader of BERSIH gave a short speech, regarding the memorandum submitted that has not been fulfilled yet, namely to re-check strictly the electoral roll, the do away with the postal votes, the re-holding of the local government election etc. He then passed the memo again to Ronnie Liew, the exco of selangor state assembly. Ronnie then informed the crowd about the progress of the state govt effort to push the local govt election and anti-ISA motion in Parliament. Another Malay guy ( don remember who is tat ) then gav a brief speech, RPK arrived and was urged2 gv his speech then. The whole process lasted about only 15 mins, then we sang the national anthem intended to close up the event.
The police and FRU were ready at the side all this time while the OCPD or whoever shouting some instruction which we couldnt understand. Out of a sudden when were were singing the anthem, the FRU rushed in the crowd. Me, Lina and Kelly ran off to the side when they started to approach.I heard the sound of beating sth, i turned back and saw they were beating up the shield, and the line divided into two so to 'embrace' those in the middle. We ran to the car and jz realised tat Kelly' car keys, wallet and hp were wif Shah while we lost him. Barash saw us and suggested that we all followed his car bac to the 'old place' to wait for the rest.
Jennifer helped us to make a call to Gush to get Shah's number but Gush told us that he has been arrested. When we arrived at the place, bloggers keep coming back and finally Shah. The info gathered was, there were 24 ppl being caught, including Tony Phua and Ronnie( who din ran but intended to talk to the police that we were doing nth and gonna dispersed, obviously they were not prepared to talk at all but were instucted to arrest ), a priest, an elderly couple ( the wife tried to stop the police from pulling her husband forcefully, but the FRU pushed her onto the floor causing her head to hit on the flower pots, they arrested her as well then ), young students who joined the vigil for the 1st time ( which part do these ppl look like a terrorist? ) and the most irritating part is, ppl at the side nearer to the FRU heard tat they targeted Indians wearing yellow shirts. Y? to justify their arrest, bcoz they can say tat they were trying to catch HINDRAF fellows ( which is an illegal group now ) who illegally assembled. ( we do not know those Indians r realy HINDRAF ppl o not, but its for sure tat tonite event has nth2 do wif them )
we actualy tot tat RPK is their main target since it would be a right excuse to get him bac to the jail after his release on habeas corpus. But his call informing tat he is ok gv us big relief. PR leaders all rushing to the PJ police station to catch up wif the incident and so do lawyers to offer bailing help. there were about 80 ppl gathering outside the police station, and u know wat the police did?
THEY FIRED TEAR GAS!!
these kinda treatment shd be applied on aggressive ressistant, terroristor communists who trying to threaten the public safety, but definitely not ppl like us who were gathering peacefully to submit memorandum and reminding the ppl in this country about the draconian ISA. U might think tat v might hav nth to do and too stupid to risk our liberty.
But all these while if it were not all these ppl who r willing2 come out and pushing lots of things behind, imagine how the country woould be? The ppl in power could do watever they wan bcoz no1 would say sth against. True they r stil doing sth out of whims and fancies, but there would b misgivings. If it were not bcoz of these fantastic bloggers, ppl stil being ignorant bout the true stories behind wats happenening in this country and there would be no 308.
Don ever think tat they are pro-PR, nope, they are jz Pro-whoever-tat-can-bring-forward-wat-they-are-fighting-for. an informed community, civilised govenment, basic human rights and the better future for the nextgeneration. most of the bloggers ady passed 2/3 of their life, half leg into the coffins, but they are stil dragging the old bodies coming out to fight for Malaysians, y??Vicky said sth nice--Looking at the face of the FRU, do they ever realize who they are catching n beating?some ppl trying 2 breach the peace of the country and making a whoo haa out of nth?they are catching n beating ppl who are fighting for the younger generation including their kids!!!!
